The former Brazilian president detained after being declared a risk of fleeing
The former Brazilian leader has been detained after authorities concluded he posed a definite escape threat while under domestic detention.
The former head of state was found guilty of orchestrating a military coup in last fall and given more than 27 years in prison, but he remained under house arrest pending legal challenges.
Top Judicial Official the presiding justice said the action to imprison the elderly politician was a preventative measure after fresh information came to light.
